Management Accountant

Are you looking for the next step in your accounting career? We are looking for an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant looking to become a Management Accountant as part of a small UK office. The business is part of a much larger group of companies based in the US, and you’ll receive support with their consolidation system. They are happy to support you with your qualifications, whether that be AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.

As part of a small office team, you might occasionally need to help with answering the door or the phone if everyone else is busy, so we need someone flexible and happy to support the wider operation at times.

You will be responsible for:

Handling general accounting tasks, including managing cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and expense reports.
Ensure the proper segregation of duties and implement controls to prevent impropriety.
Manage the monthly close and financial reporting process, including quarterly and year-end activities.
Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries.
Lead and support internal and external audit processes.
Create and analyse sales, gross margin, and cost reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

The Candidate: Management Accountant

1-2 years of industry experience in a similar role, such as Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Finance Analyst, Cost Accountant, Financial Accountant, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable.
Strong skills in math, communication, and organisation.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero or Sage, and advanced Excel skills.
